I am excited to finally share what we have been working on here at Yes2Yoga_For kids for the past 12 months!
In full consultation with principals, classroom teachers, PE teachers and Wellbeing co-ordinators at a number of schools we are almost ready to launch our very first ‘ Online Yoga and Wellbeing Program For Schools’ It is a full 5 week program that can be used by classroom teachers or fit perfectly into your PE program. The lessons are linked to the Australian Curriculum with a full PDF checklist of areas covered. The program is age appropriate with 2 sections available. A section for Prep-2 students and another for the Grade 3-6 students. Therefore you can just purchase as a year level or a whole school program.
How does it work? Well as teachers we are all about flexibility. The lessons can be worked into your own timetable where it fits. The full lesson is completed first and then it is divided into sections to use and revisit throughout the rest of the week for eg: the yoga pose section to start the day, the breathing section after recess, or the relaxation section after lunch. Use it as much or as little as required.
As an experienced Primary School Teacher I founded Yes2Yoga_For kids in 2014 and have been successfully running whole school yoga and wellbeing programs on a weekly basis. This program has been carefully planned and made with children’s overall physical and emotional health at the forefront. It’s aim is to give both teachers and students strategies to use not just in the classroom but also to take home and use in their daily lives.
We are in final editing stage now with the amazing photographer/videographer at Petite Visuals – Morgane Cazaubon and the program is expected to launch Jan 2021 ready for Term 1 where wellbeing is surely front of mind for all teachers. I think this program will be just what our students and teachers will need to start of the year in a fantastic frame of mind. If you are a teacher or know a teacher or are a parent that would like this in their school please share.
Sending loads of love to all of my Yes2Yoga families during this time 🙂
